LCCI International Qualifications - General Overview
From its creation in 1881, the London Chamber of Commerce recognized the need for improved commercial and technical secondary education alongside advanced foreign language courses. The Commercial Education Committee of the London Chamber of Commerce was appointed in 1887, and the first LCCI examinations were held later that same year.
The changing structure of industry and employment in the UK and across Europe had increased the need for members of staff to develop clerical and commercial skills. In response to this demand, LCCI designed a series of vocational qualifications to assess candidates’ abilities. Having decided to expand overseas, the LCCI held its first exams in Bombay in 1898 and there are now more than 5,000 LCCI centers in over 100 countries.
We have a proud history of awarding scholarships and prizes to outstanding candidates, and our Medallion awards are highly coveted.
